And it happens so rarely that you actually have to hunt for instances of shadows. Case in point, four frames selected at random (these are from 80's Jonny Quest, BTW). See any shadows under the cels?

Whilst TF:TM generally has superb animation... this Hot-Rod's transformation is sheer brainfart. Literally splits apart!

@LioManBad I hate that they went with the toy look when we all always wanted THE Sorceress. It's even in the 80's license guide, for goodness sake!
