Shout-out to antagonists who are part of a Circus/Circus-themed group
Gotta be One of My Favorite Genders
This is actually a small issue I had with The Batman; they raceswapped Selina Kyle and Gordon, but they took a relatively minor black character, Mackenzie Bock, and made him white.
He was a decent guy in the comics, but the movie made him a corrupt cop.

@Exalted_Speed I actually remember @CartoonsZany coming up with the idea that Kyle would end up taking the title of the Red Knight from the original cartoon, and when you think about it, Duncan also becomes a “red(ish) knight”.
@ChristinaTasty Basically, a self-insert can work if they’re either not really the main character, but are still a fun character, or if they are the main character but the author has enough restraint in not trying to force the reader to like them.
That said, when you have several self-inserts…
I get what you’re trying to say, but counterpoint in the “Legacy characters, while also being their own characters” department.

Meanwhile, since apparently no one at DC can think things through, it’s implied that Jay is secretly evil.
Really read the room on this one, huh DC?
