A teensy little thumbnail-ish painting of Bad Schandau in brooding afternoon mist. Bad Schandau is a resort town along the Elbe river, and one of the gateways to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Saxon Switzerland. #urbansketchers #saxonswitzerland #badschandau #watercolour
Family on train, random guy at station, Weimar street scene. @acu_studyabroad #Leipzig #urbansketching #urbansketchers #watercolor
A sculpture featuring the Decalogue from the back of the Reichsgericht, the massive Imperial courthouse in Leipzig. During WWII, this court handed down laws on behalf of the Nazis, yet for some reason the Nazis tolerated (or missed) this image of the 10 Commandments. Watercolor.
Facade to the old, defunct Essanay ("S and A") movie studio, downtown Chicago.
More old paintings, and another head (Mercury, obv). Ornament on a building in Leipzig.
A stone face decorating a building. There are a ton of these in Leipzig. Easy to imagine the facades talking to each other at night.
From the vault #9: August Strindberg statue. For the life of me, I can't remember where this was.
From the vault #4: Cliffs of Dover. Second attempt after first painting was blown into ocean.
From the vault #3: Angel sculpture from a churchyard monument at Holy Trinity Headington, Oxford. This churchyard is where C.S. Lewis is buried (though this isn't his grave).
