One detail I’ve always loved is that, in the books, Queen La is from a lost colony of Atlantis. So, the version they made for the show looks like an Atlantean from the Disney movie!

Fun fact: Jafar had a twin sister named Nasira, who they introduced in a video game.

So, here’s something interesting about Issue #1’s story — it involves everyone at Retsuko’s job succumbing to a pandemic called “The C-Virus” (Carrier Virus).

The experience I gained, while working on NSMA, was invaluable and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world

Here’s hoping Nintendo allows an American publisher to take another crack at a comics adaptation of Mario, someday... I’d love to be involved in some way!

I learned so many lessons about writing for sequential art, and how to effectively communicate with an art team. In many ways, it was my own personal “comics boot camp.”

I learned how to format comic scripts by reading Archie Sonic scripts that @IanFlynnBKC posted on his forums
