I really despise the “Smash is a Japanese game” excuse because other gaming crossovers like Marvel vs Capcom is also developed by a Japanese company in Japan yet half of its roster consists of iconic American comic book heroes/villains they used and paid the license for.

When people draw someone in “Disney style” they’re mostly referring to the 2D Renaissance or CGI Revival era, but it can also apply to these specific designs of Mickey Mouse/cartoony characters which I wish had it’s own term because calling it “Disney” only refers to the former.
