Heck, if Intelligent Systems really wanted accuracy to the main series then they might as well just get rid of Paper Mario/Luigi/Peach’s beady eyed chibi aesthetic and straight up redesign them to look like exactly like their stock 2D art instead.

The slight change in Paper Mario’s art direction makes me a bit sad, I get that they wanted the enemy designs to be more accurate and faithful to the modern mainline games but doesn’t that just take away from what made PM’s original artstyle so unique?

I hope that Sonic Smackdown thing becomes the next Sonic Mania, with how chill and supportive SEGA is these days about their IP I think it’s possible.
