I’m really fond of this classic video game character trope where the character is a mere tradesman such as a plumber, exterminator, construction worker or handyman, it feels weird yet it kinda works too, especially in a platformer.

Mario was even originally gonna be a carpenter.

@JW_Cartoonist Eddy is a perfect example of this done right, he’s a greedy schemer who always scams the neighbor kids out of their money but his plans almost never succeed and usually gets karma handed to him.

But at the same time, he isn’t outright heartless and was a victim of sibling abuse.
