I do genuinely feel bad for the non-toxic FF fans who’ve wanted their characters in the games besides the Sonic Spinball cameos for nearly 20+ years being shut off while characters who’ve only existed for 2 years become official playable.

Ngl, that’s a pretty big middle finger.

And I really doubt its SEGA/Sonic Team’s doing, they’ve made stupid mandates before but not down to this level.

Are we just gonna forget how expressive Sonic has been under the use of other companies/media?

Not only is Sonic lacking in representation but we don’t have an evil genius on the villains side of the roster (It’s usually either kings or space pirates) or a character who ultilizes in mechs and various machinery yet.

Heck, if Intelligent Systems really wanted accuracy to the main series then they might as well just get rid of Paper Mario/Luigi/Peach’s beady eyed chibi aesthetic and straight up redesign them to look like exactly like their stock 2D art instead.
