Sometimes I worry I don’t do enough to help. I’m not a social worker protecting vulnerable children. I’m not a doctor in A & E saving lives. I do one thing. But I do it with complete passion, because my life was changed by writers, musicians & artists who poured ideas into me.
I know I shouldn’t enjoy it so much, but after 8 years of being woken through the night and at the crack of dawn, there’s something deeply satisfying about throwing open the kids curtains in the morning and saying ‘wakey, wakey, time for School’ while they burrow under the duvet!
