Lost Pokemon of the Day: "Latiken"
The only Gen 3 Lost Pokemon whose artwork was officially revealed by Game Freak, it appears to have ultimately gotten split into two separate Pokemon -- Latias and Blaziken.

In December 2018, Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara showcased some Gen 1 beta sprites on Japanese TV, including Arcanine's -- revealing his original design for the very first time.

Beta Gastly:
Gastly was created around 1990, but he didn't look like the Gastly we know today until around 1995 -- his beta sprite and Red, Green, & Blue sprites reveal what he USED to look like.

Lost Pokemon of the Day: Beta Squids
First discovered when Gen 1 beta assets leaked in 2019, these two Beta Pokemon were created during Red & Green's development... but they didn't end up making Gen 1's final cut.

Beta Kingdra:
The original Kingdra design used in Gold & Silver's 1997 demo exemplified its Water/Dragon typing even better than its final design. Maybe someday it could return as a regional form.

Lost Pokemon of the Day: the Norowara family
First revealed when Gold & Silver's 1997 demo leaked in 2018, Norowara and Kyonpan were pure Ghost-type Pokemon based on a Chinese straw doll and a Jiangshi panda.

First revealed in the Japan-exclusive 2018 manga "Satoshi Tajiri: The Man Who Created Pokemon," Deer was originally created for use in Gen 1... but he got cut during development.
