After years of 'not being bothered' by hellebores, I find myself increasingly taken with the dark ones, at least.
This was going to be in pen & ink but the colours of the original seduced me.☺️

Another couple of quick sketches for my gallery of 'Birds at @ryeharbour_NR'. I'm fond of coots with their blue-black-white plumage; they usually make me smile.

But I've rarely felt less like smiling than right now.
