Hadrosaur Evolution, from sketch to final.
This big Cretaceous cow features in PROJECT:TEPUI, my new book which launches on Kickstarter... *checks calendar and panics* ... TOMORROW!!!
#dinosaur
I don’t share many early-stage WIPs but here’s one for #FossilFriday. The pencil sketch and about 2hrs of painting. A loooooong way still to go!
(3/6) A wide range of species exists on the high, undiscovered plateau, including not just true #dinosaurs, but also synapsids and pterosaurs - those creatures which the old movies always considered interchangeable with true dinosaurs.
(2/6) The prehistoric residents of this lost world are inspired by the monster movies of the mid-20th century and the dinosaur toys of my childhood. Upright, tail-dragging postures and reptilian appearance are combined with more contemporary twists to create something unique.
Some #sauropodsunday sketches ‘n’ scribbles, from PROJECT:TEPUI which launches on Kickstarter in *checks calendar & panics* just TEN DAYS!
I’m pouring all my time & effort into this and if you’d like to be part of it you can set a reminder by going here: https://t.co/tdJaXmUhjG
A sunbathing synapsid for #FossilFriday
This interpretation is deliberately overly-reptilian. It’s taken from my Project:Tepui Kickstarter, whose creatures are inspired as much by old monster-movies as by the fossil record. (1/2)
Is #SynapsidSaturday a hashtag?
Probably not, but it should be.
Anyway, I made a thing...
