@Shentok_ Unless there is an option to activate, it feels the same on PC . Taken from here https://t.co/32KB59g8Rg
I think it was maybe some NIS thing back then in regards to sprite. I think Disgaea 1 & 2 was similar in that respect too but damn is it rough to look at nowadays
I haven't played Phantom Brave. Are the sprites filtered like this in the original game? That's some tough smoothing happening
You could see these wizards came from Vagrant Story and how they were able to cram so much detail on Ashley Riot.
128x128! vs 256x256 for FFXII.
Polygon count for 3D models was also lower than FFX. Apparently (I don't know myself), the polygon count for low poly 3D model in FFX is 3000. FFXII was working with around ~1500. Half of what FFX had.
Look at this model of Cid, everything about his design is symmetrical as hell.
What happened in FF12 is that every character's texture is mirrored across the body in order to save space and memory. So the left side will be the same as the right side outside of occasional stuff like Basch's scar they added on the texture
It's also why Vaan's abs is this way
The way Final Fantasy XII was able to cram so much detail into these character textures is incredible. Just stacked into such a small picture resolution
Maya is the kind of character you'd just love to hang around with. Always optimistic, cheery and caring for others.
Maya felt less like filling an archetype and more like someone tangible you'd want to spend more time with. Persona 2 is so much fun.
I watched the available episodes of the Great Pretender anime on Netflix and it was awesome so far. Lots of cool and sweet stories. Excited to see how the rest unfolds
