Now that the contest is over I can share this! This is the piece I made for a contest for #SpiderManFarFromHome While it didn't win, I'm very proud of it! It was only possible thanks to my mentor @MartaNael who I'm incredibly grateful for! This piece is just the first step!
Day 1017: Home Tree! I tried pretty hard tonight to come up with a proper value plan for a painting like this. I experimented, looked at different references, and tried to follow the lessons from my mentor. While it was still pretty rough, I sorta liked where it was headed! :D
Day 1015: Artifact! Tonight's result was pretty simple, but I couldn't quite get a good idea. Still, I had a great session with my mentor and moving forward I'm going to try and really dig in and understand value thumbnails. I want to improve so I need to just dig in work! :D
Day 1012: Fish! I actually really like the idea behind tonight's piece. While the execution was certainly lackluster, and not exactly original, I do like the general idea. I'll probably put it aside and revisit it in the future when I'm a better artist and make something cool! :D
Day 1010: Worm! Tonight's result wasn't too good, but while I was playing a bit of FFXIV today, I remembered one of the reasons of why I try to work harder on my art. I really want to illustrate scenes from the game that we imagine in our heads but can't always see. Someday! :D
Day 1004: Glow! Tonight's result was bad since I never really focused properly, but this is going to be the first draft of a bigger image I'm going to work on! This month will be all about value thumbnails as I try to come up with rough image ideas to get in the habit of it!
Day 1002: Snake! Another pretty quick study done. I'm not too happy with how this turned out again, but honestly I just spent most of today napping after my long weekend. Now that I'm rested up, hopefully I can get back to work and continue the momentum to improve! :D
Day 1000: Angel! I can't believe it's been a thousand days in a row of this. This result wasn't the best, but I kinda liked it! The picture I studied tonight helped inspire my OC's way back when. I hope to create images on par with it someday! Here's to plenty more studies! :D
Day 998: Thor! Tonight's result was interesting again. It was done pretty quickly so the forms aren't the best, but I think the overall feel was pretty much there! It's really cool seeing how professionals approach ideas like this! I think I'm learning a bit more!
Day 995: Birds! I liked tonight's result. It was pretty fun to work on, and I think some elements were actually really pretty. These are fun to work on and I finally feel like my steps are starting to become strides! I'm happy with it finally! :D Onwards and upwards with these!
