OTD 1654 Cromwell opened his 2nd Parliament. In a 3 hour speech he said they had been called because England needed them. He also told them he was called and guided by God not man - Divine Right of Kings much? He dissolved the P four month later.
Tried watching the new movie - "based on Dumas". When d'Artagnan's presentation sword was a 19th C Naval Officer's I knew something was going to be wrong. Let me simply say "Really don't bother", it may actually be the worst yet!
