Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen, who was best known for his illustrations of trolls, died #OTD in 1914. He gained fame when he was commissioned by folklore enthusiasts Peter Christen Asbjørnsen & Jørgen Moe to illustrate an edition of Norwegian Folktales.
