Jan Marcin Szancer illustrated over 300 books, including the Polish edition of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales and Michael Bond's A Bear Called Paddington.
The Wizard of OZ illustrations by Lisbeth Zwerger (1996)
Kay Nielsen's concept art for Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid (1940). His "multicultural, mythical designs for the film were too dark, too morally ambiguous" for Disney. Nielsen & Disney parted ways, though he was brought back to help work on Sleeping Beauty in the 1950's
Sybille Schenker's delicate papercraft illustrations for Little Red Riding Hood. She uses layers of laser-cut and die-cut paper overlaid onto her graphic silhouette illustrations.
Books that I am looking forward to reading this year are:
The Plentiful Darkness by @HeatherKassner
Root Magic by @EdenRoyce
Amari & The Night Brothers by @bb_alston
Eva Evergreen & The Cursed Witch by @julieabebooks
