As long as I can remember, I loved to read & make up stories. Nothing delighted me more than to dwell in the imaginary worlds I created out of words & illustrations. I lived inside books & my own mind. They were more than mere escapism, they were my existence.
Illustrator Elsa Beskow grew up with fairy tales &, from the time she could first speak, loved telling her own. Nicknamed "Princess" by her siblings, she spent most of her time drawing, daydreaming and finding wonder in nature.
