The real question I have about the fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" was: Who was the inspector who signed off on the witch's house being up to code?
The Swedish fairy tale illustrations of Gustaf Tenggren. One can see the influence of John Bauer on his work. When Walt Disney was preparing to make Snow White, he wanted Bauer but, due to the artist's tragic death, Disney found Tenggren instead.
