One of my all-time favorite illustrators is the immensely talented @mrjamesmayhew. If you are looking for gorgeous picture books then I highly recommend any that he has done.

Artist, print-maker & illustrator Edward Ardizzone, whose birthday was yesterday, won the inaugural Kate Greenaway Medal for Tim All Alone. It was part of his Little Tim series. His work shows a deep affection for people & it shows in every softly curving line he ever painted.
Author & illustrator Jean de Brunhoff died #OTD in 1937. He is best known for having written & illustrated the series Babar. The stories began when his wife Cécile de Brunhoff invented them for their children. They loved them so much, they asked their father to illustrate them.
