I also just noticed this, and maybe it's nothing, but the angle of the camera between these two scenes is identical--but one is between Roger and Dorothy (and RDW isn't on-screen) and the other is Roger and Angel (and they're face to face)
Something great about this episode in particular is we see Roger at first brazenly dismiss Dorothy's "humanity" and we, the audience, are meant to agree with him--just for that understanding to tossed away in the last moments of the episode
I've always wondered how well the first episode would work if someone went in completely blind because there's 0 hints that the show is about robots or that Roger even has one until the end. Would be cool to see.
Oh, and I love this shot. There's three layers of action in the foreground and the action is happening all the way in the background with Roger getting out of the Griffon.
These shots make The Big O look like a real Hollywood movie, one with considerable chops and classic focus, one that really uses every angle and vantage point to make a shot STICK.
