Undead aberrations taken over by an unidentified growing crystal. They've grown too heavy for flight but can fire searing beams of energy. Any dragon killed by the light will have its flesh turn into crystals before coming back to life.

Some kind of malignant force corrupts plants to grow and cluster into the most powerful creature in an area, then take flight and repeat the process elsewhere.
On one hand, I wanted it clean, but on the other, I wanted to show how it subdues prey.
I chose my mermay pieces because they're stylistically and thematically consistent.
