#Smaugust2022 20: Fruit Salad
What an odd parting gift from the locals. They seemed eager to hand it over. They told us to only unwrap it once the island disappears beyond the horizon. Imagine our surprise to find a disembodied statue head. My gaze always wanders to its eyes.

I wanna try Baked Alaska solely because the dessert can be set on fire 🔥🔥🔥

#Smaugust2022 15: Tiramisu
These are a chore to study and I despise having to track them under the sun. They effortlessly dart in and out of the sugar and spice sands propelled by their powerful tails. They can also glide across the dunes just a few centimeters off the ground.

#Smaugust2022 14: Baked Alaska
These dragons' loose skin increase the surface area for the production of a flammable substance all over their bodies. They then ignite themselves for reasons I've yet to study. Quite a sight to behold from afar, resembling comets in the night sky.

#Smaugust2022 11: Banana Split
It has the same sugary adaptations as the rest of the dragons on the island on top of being huge. It's about as tall as 3 fully-grown men when standing on its hind feet, which it does to deter would-be assailants... which I imagine aren't many.

#Smaugust2022 9: Sweet Roll
Limbless and slow, they curl around and bite their tail when threatened. Then they emit a sickly sweet aroma as well as ooze thick cream from their backs. This works well against the island's endemic predators, but not so much on me and my companions.

Another species that has been successfully domesticated and bred into many varieties. Its large doughy body can extraordinarily regenerate overnight. This and its sociable demeanor make it a valuable companion and food source especially on long expeditions.

Here's the person describing the dragons! A half-dragon naturalist and self described connoisseur, adventurer, and gentleman. In his quest to expand his palate, he joined an guild of explorers searching for exotic food and spices.
