#Evangelion 3.0+1.0 was released to Amazon Prime Video one year ago today. Assuming Amazon had a year-long exclusivity deal, perhaps we'll start to hear details about @GKIDSfilms' physical release, as well as the fate of the other three Rebuild films.
I've always loved how this image perfectly encapsulates #HideakiAnno and #Evangelion. It was originally featured as the "Toppage" image of Gainax's website on April 25th, 2003. Art is by guest artist Mine Yoshizaki, who you may know as the creator of Sgt. Frog.
Hot take, because venting is good... I think? Telling someone they're some sort of smooth-brained child that "didn't get it" is pointless, hurtful, and adds nothing to a discussion. Seriously though, I got it, the film just didn't satisfy me.
Tomorrow evening I'll be recording a spoilerific #Evangelion 3.0+1.0 podcast with @AnnoCinema, EvaOtaku, and GoatJesus. If you have any questions you'd like to have answered, or topics you'd like discussed, leave them in the comments below!
It is now July 22nd in Japan, and while some theaters will continue to exhibit it, #Evangelion 3.0+1.0's theatrical engagement has officially come to a close after 136 days.
On a scale of 1-9, how Rei Ayanami are you feeling today?

@kevin_on_left @FUNimation No, this question keeps coming up, and I'm determined to get to the bottom of it. Hopefully it's just global supply chain issues from the pandemic and we'll see an influx of new stock at some point soon. Then again, Sony bought both Funimation and Crunchyroll. Streaming, perhaps?
