Thread: Found this great book showcasing various 90's CG artists/designers, '3D & Web Masters' by Agosto (1998)
They ended up being sued by HP (one of the partners) for unpaid equipment lease fees. I do wonder what they're up to now...
Here are some of the concept sketches for the exhibits, the weird 'PoMo faces' motif is so fun, and omnipresent in 1990s design.

This thought was partially brought about by a particular example, the Factory Building in Long Island City, NYC. In the now-long history of gentrification, it fits within that early-mid portion when there was still some impetus to make it 'artsy' (mid 1990s).
Found an odd little lost piece of media, 'UnZip' by IPC Magazine, feat. content from New Scientist, Vox, and NME (1995). For a few years in the mid 90s, it seemed like the future of magazines were interactive CD-ROMs with a surreal melange of various then-contemporary aesthetics.
It's odd but I think it makes sense that design & arts scene developed a fascination with darker neo-gothic, spiritual aesthetics to deal with the loss, in the late 80s & early 1990s.
@amyhoy Not seeing it so much in the 1st example, but definitely agree that the glasswork of Ettore helped to influence the later cultural revival interest in 'fanciful glass bauble' art.
I could totally go for a resurgence of the 'Whimsigothic' style; hallmarks shown here include the wavy red candles, sorta-iridescent 'crystal balls', and the faux fireplace candles. Images 2-4 are just some fun examples I've found of the style.
I've uploaded the zip file of fully editable Illustrator files here, for both the Vol 1. and Vol 3. editions I bought
