Warren Ellis was also brought in to make a new version of it that went nowhere because Warren Ellis just stopped working on it and didn't leave a game plan for people to finish it. I'm sure it's because he lost his hard drive. THAT DAMN HARD DRIVE!

Starbrand, DP7 at least seem like modern version of classic DC character Green Lantern and Doom Patrol. Later the New Universe would fold some stories into Quasar the Marvel book that made all the DC comics references.

@ningenapologue Yeah I would also look up Chip Zdarsky's Spider-man run as well if you want another good modern Spider-man run.

I would read Superior Foes of Spider-man first or with the run, since his Boomerang stuff starts here. It's a comedy book but a good one and very on point. Also I like it's ending despite it saying people would hate it!

Marvel first outright mainstream gay hero was Northstar. No doubt on that one but Chris Claremont often wrote his women bisexual so keep that in mind too.

I mean the 2000's was the era of Bomb Queen. Jesus this had a plot where Bomb Queen tries to become Obama's babymama to blackmail him.
