#Fatbatweek continuing a pace! Ghost bats are Australia's largest microbat, stunning & carnivorous. @nicci_hanrahan has done some awesome research on their social vocalisations. Lolly frogs are wonderfully chewy - a real Macroderma gigas would infinitely prefer a mouse.
Another #fatbatweek offering; Hipposideros fulva about to nick pistachios from atop Gulab Jamun. These bats are actually insectivorous and have the most adorable little nose dishes that aid in echolocation.

I don't often self-depict but when I do there is generally bats involved...
This one is for @HonkIfUrHoary - who put me onto the existence of Fat Bat Week on instagram and who's Hoary Bat photos (and reposts) always delight.
Third pseudoprint in my series "Suns Out! Tongues Out!" - a #tamandua, and so by first letter of their names so far spelling

The SEVENTH week of LockDragon means a new thread!
Beginning with the 43rd in the series: Cog-backed Teal Dangler. Love tummy rubs. Does not blink. Vigilant, Viridian, Virulent. Causes a mild case of the common cold if you don't have the correct key in hand when you touch it.
SIXTH week of Lock Down begins: 36th of LockDragon.
A doubly opinionated Athenian Turquoise browed lock. Hangs around with night birds, the BEST at pub quiz nights, really likes a well made coffee. Suspicious.
LockDragon #27: Is unconvinced. Has just remembered that it left its cup of tea in the microwave. Smells of aniseed. Chirrups when locked/unlocked.
