Francisca and Flamberge have been implied to share a romantic bond with each other. Shinya Kumazaki states that their bond "may be deeper than [just comrades]", and in a Kirby_JP Twitter post, Flamberge states that Francisca's drawing is so cute that it "makes her chest fire up".

In 2011, Nintendo partnered with the Starlight Children's Foundation for a contest where fans could draw on a coloring page and invent a new Super Ability. One of the abilities shown in the contest gallery was "Doctor Kirby", which would later appear in Kirby: Planet Robobot.

During development of Pokémon Red and Blue, Kōji Nishino, who inspired Snorlax’s design, was nicknamed Kirby at Game Freak because he’d usually eat a lot and sleep. This joke ended up being implemented in Snorlax’s Japanese name, Kabigon (kabi being pronounced as “kaabii”).
