Life long movie buff. Reader of bad fiction and good history. Still loves comics after all this time. Delusional writer.

Comic reading this weekend: (the gang travels to Warworld to save Starfire from Mongul, a good book I will miss); & (Dick or Ric Grayson tries to figure out who he really is, good thing the Joker arrives to help).

Everybody remembers as Obi Wan Kenobi, but I was introduced to him as a kid when I my parents let me stay up late on a school night and watch BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI. Still wonder if Nicholson falls on the plunger by accident, or on purpose. Or does it matter?

I like two of most out there films, HELL IN THE PACIFIC, where he squares off against Lee Marvin in a most unusual war film; and in Spielberg's 1941, where he shares screen time with Christopher Lee, and Slim Pickens. 1941 might deserve a 2nd look.

Here's my team, Cesare:
Gil Favor (knows how to lead a contentious group, good under pressure)
Paladin (knows when to be nice, knows when to be nasty, knows when to be either)
Lucas McCain (deadly shot, good father)
James West (experience in taking out Old West super villains)

Didn't want the day to pass without wishing a most happy 87th birthday to the great badass who was, among many, Conan's father, Falconetti in RICH MAN POOR MAN, and who gave Clint Eastwood a very hard time in ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN. He never disappoints.

The Blu Ray was late, so this weekend pulled out the DVD and watched Tarantino favorite, PRETTY MAIDS ALL IN A ROW for the first time. A true time capsule from the '70s, it just might be the most "inappropriate" movie ever made by today's standards. I loved it.

HANNIE CAULDER (she knows when a man is going for his gun before he does, and, well...)
NELSE MCLEOD (works for money, is worth the price)
JARED MADDOX (knows no fear, no problem back shooting a coward)

There were no small parts if (BOTD 1929) played them. He not in ONE EYED JACKS much, but he's unforgettable as Howard Tetley, who orders his female companion to "Drink, you sow" before being gunned down by Brando. Always "the ultimate social undesirable."
