And for what this Twitter nerd's tastes are worth, Lina Inverse is straight up my favourite fictional character ever conceived, especially when voiced by Cynthia Martinez. I'm not sure if I could explain why though.

Slayers is one of the few things I can think of that hit such a perfect perfect balance of "Parodying the thing to the point of hilarity while also legit being a shining, earnest and moving example of the thing" outside of Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz.
