Kairi & Riku (at least, the Riku in the art) aren't in the damn game. They both got cut, but they only removed Kairi from the art because Riku still had a KIND of presence in Coded.

This is the smoking gun. Whatever this game was SUPPOSED to be, it got completely scrambled.

So, there's a thing I forgot to mention in the videos that's REALLY key if you want to understand what happened to Coded.

The first image is the key art for the cell phone game. The second image is what it got changed to towards the end of the game's run. How peculiar.

Not that I don't understand this person's point, but all four of these relationships are rife with toxic masculinity. Siax and Aced are jealous, petty assholes who throw tantrums when they don't get their way, Riku tried to kill Sora to claim a woman, Xehanort shot Eraqus.

I completely missed this joke the first time I watched Infinity Train. It's on screen for less than a second.

Anyone know if there's a clean version of either of these backgrounds out there anywhere? Be it a photoshop or an official version?

Not too much cool stuff from the other games. I do like this environmental concept art from CoM! You really get a good idea of what they WANTED the game to look like, even though they couldn't quite get it there.

I'd totally be down for another game with this art style though.

But of course, when it comes to the environmental art, there's only one king in KH1.

I really wish Hollow Bastion had kept this look throughout the series. The steam, the sparking electricity, the clouds, the dizzying heights, they're all begging for an HD makeover.

I really like the 100 Acre Wood stuff. If you just showed this to me out of context I would assume is was from a Pooh storybook or something, not video game concept art.

Back to KH1. There are a lot of great illustrations of the game's maps. These were clearly made pretty late in the development process since they match the in-game look almost exactly.

Ah yes, 'Box'. My favorite box brand in all of Traverse Town.
