Feeling very proud of the year 10s who have worked really hard on these. They’ve shown amazing resilience and never gave up, even when they got very tricky, as self portraits tend to do! 🎨

We’re so proud and impressed with year 8 for creating these distorted self portraits inspired by Francis Bacon. It was their last lesson today and so fantastic to see them working on these with such enthusiasm! Can’t wait to display them in the department 🖼

Year 8 have been learning all about their local history and created these wonderful posters to honour those in the community who stood against oppression.

Shaheen in year 7 created this truly beautiful homework which shows the numbers from her date of birth overlapping to form an abstract artwork. Great to see this level of perseverance! (And a nice warm up for our upcoming abstract art project too 🎨)

We’ve been really pushing our year 1 GCSE art students to develop their observational skills & getting them to work from real life. It’s been tough but it’s worth it, we love how the textures and markings explored last week are finding their way into these paintings! #notracing

How wonderful is this work by GCSE art year 1?! They’ve been developing their understanding of tones, tints, shades and hues and we can see them really growing in their confidence-Bravo! 🦜

Year 12 responded really well to the experimental drawing workshop today, embracing chance, spontaneity and texture. (And how very autumnal!)
