We love Meiya’s dramatic painting of Amanda Gorman, inspired by the wonderful @OBEYGIANT .Happy half term everyone! #thereisalwayslight @TheAmandaGorman
Today’s department meeting was spent making practice pieces for future KS3 projects. Lovely to find a little time in such a busy school year to refresh our skills and create together. #happyteachers #prep #shepardfairey #southallresists #blm #giger #allowingtracingjustthisonce
An exciting whirlwind of mark making, texture and form today with GCSE yr1 who smashed it again during this expressive mixed-media lesson. #drawingfromlife #markmaking #gcseart
We’ve been really pushing our year 1 GCSE art students to develop their observational skills & getting them to work from real life. It’s been tough but it’s worth it, we love how the textures and markings explored last week are finding their way into these paintings! #notracing
Year 12 responded really well to the experimental drawing workshop today, embracing chance, spontaneity and texture. (And how very autumnal!)
GCSE 10/11 were brilliant today on their trip to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park where they explored the Anish Kapoor ‘Orbit’ sculpture for the exam topic ‘Event’. Some even braved the 178m slide!
Great effort from year 7, even in their final lessons before the holidays! #watercolor
An enjoyable afternoon amongst the art in the Tate Britain with year 12. #abbeyroad #gallery #arttrip
