I'm happy with how the Hoopoe is coming along but went badly off course experimenting with the background. This is a digital rough, the current bird dropped back onto the original bg - as reference to continue with the oils

@Davidjsalter That applies to most of them at some point :) but this is probably the main one. It captures the mood I wanted but I think it comes across a little too sterile and lifeless.

@theKaiBeck Its book related :) I paint oils for wall and cover art (I can even do the graphic design elements too)
