To this day, the Alva Set (2) is still my platonic ideal for fantasy knight. I personally find ER's armor sets to get a little too ostentatious whereas DS2's found that right mix of fantastical and grounded.

I've always wanted to do a piece with this kinda vibe. Some of my favorite mecha illustrations are the ones where the robot is just chilling in the hangar.

I don't often get to do character heavy compositions, but it was a fun challenge and I rather enjoyed figuring out the lighting and poses in this piece.
