Finally saw CAPTAIN MARVEL & AVENGERS: ENDGAME. Loved them. CAPT M felt more like a sci-fi adventure than a superhero film. ENDGAME had so many mood swings. It was epic! Both films got me teary… CAPT M with the logo at the start and ENDGAME with the cheeseburger scene.

Went to see DETECTIVE PIKACHU. So cool! So much fun! So much Pokémon detail. Ryan Reynolds AND Bill Nighy. The Mr Mime scene was a touch disturbing. Loved it!

This got released last week. Had to buy it immediately. Loads of fun. Worth the wait! But now I can hardy wait for the next season.

Had a lovely afternoon at the Lamont Books Teacher/Librarian event. Great to share stage with these 2 fab authors - Ingrid Laguna and Robert Newton. Talked about my upcoming book, THE AUSTRALIAN SURVIVAL GUIDE. Also managed a Doctor Who conversation with one of the audience peeps

Had a splendid Russian Easter with the family. Coloured some eggs, made some chocolate, some Pashka (cream cheese dessert) and some Kholodets (pork aspic).

So... I’ve discovered that Root Beer tastes pretty VILE! It’s like a cross between creaming soda and cough syrup. 🥴🤢🤮

My favourite part of Neon Playground at the Melbourne Zoo was the puppet and light performance inspired by Graeme Base’s book THE WATERHOLE. Beautiful!

Neon Playground at the Melbourne Zoo was a great night out. Interactive exhibits, whimsy, lasers and lights, and lots of neon combined to create a magical family experience.

Kerri and I had our first attempt at making Pork Omurice (Omu-raisu) for dinner today. Far from perfect (the rice was too sticky and we put too much pork into it) but not bad for our first go. And it did taste good.
