Because this film is an iceberg, I didn't quite catch until now that there's a repeated theme of characters being reassured of their identities, as in "You're you, no matter what".
Also, said characters (Sokkuri-san, Asuka, Kaworu) are notably not quite human.
Wasn't particularly impressed by VE as a series; lacks the subtlety and is too heavy-handed in trying to tell me how I should feel, but the Eternity and Memory Doll movie has some impressive CinemaScope layout and composition, I prefer it over the actual The Movie movie.
Gave Ayumu Watanabe's Children of the Sea another shot earlier today, and I still don't like how Malick wannabe-ish the story gets, but it's hard to not admire the efforts being put to make it look prettier than the script deserves, especially the top-tier background works.
@gatica_j At best, it's an opinion that has solid grounds, but never officially considered as such (I genuinely never thought AoT as mecha until you pointed this out).
The Guymelef in Escaflowne is still more mecha than a titan, in think.
Found a very good and important template on picrew so I made a very good and important daughter.

@phlogiston01 Thank you! I realized this because both adults were in great pain after losing their lovers, they ended up leaving their children to suppress the sadness, but while Gendo was being selfish, Misato did that as a show of love for her son.
Both are tragic people and I love that! 😭
The legendary Alaskan Bull Worm scene from Spongebob Season 2, but I put Hans Zimmer's "Ripples in the Sand" from #Dune soundtrack in it.
