Thank you to @Eclipse489 for the tag. and, perhaps appropriately, we'll feature some cosmic imagery in this one. I'm gonna tag:
@FrankenGraphics @JustinM56576532 @derri_art @DrSlouch https://t.co/9TGFEGLw34
some gloomy mountains on a distant alien world #pixelart
@adamfergusonart the first on the left here is especially a favorite, and i feel like some of its detailing gets lost in the larger image, so i'm thankful to have a space where I can draw attention to that little section between the two trees.
happy pixel art day. #pixelartday.
Top left: WIP revamp of my pinned tweet (full version coming, same project as top left)
Bottom left: mockup of some assets for a contracted game.
Bottom right: a little cutscene I was commissioned to make ft. Mario & Luigi. kinda silly and fun!
@lorenschmidt these are all very old examples unfortunately, but the principle is the same: a lot of the shadowing between the bricks and the pillars in the first example along with all of the texturing on the central wall on the second example is achieved using these dither patterns. now...
whoops -- i fucked up the transparency in the first upload of the comparison lol. the original is on the right!
