As with all things Norse Marvel's Dark Elves are a little different. Portrayed more as insane and unpredictable than just straight up dark, Malekith is like a wilder Loki. The MCU sucks the life out of the Dark Elves and Malekith entirely. #WyrdWednesday

Norse myth names two types of Dark Elves and it is unclear if they are the same: svartálfar are the Elves of Svartalheim, while dökkálfar are called the Dark Elves. Snorri Sturleson mentions both and Jacob Grimm thought them distinct. #WyrdWednesday

The most famous Dark Elves of fiction, the Drow, derive their name from the Trow, a spirit of Orkney and Shetland not dissimilar from trolls or elves in function and temperament. #WyrdWednesday

Inari can be rightly interpreted as either intersex, genderfluid, or transgender. This last one I want to highlight because this is only accurate in a historical sense, and situational, where Inari goes from femme-presenting to masculine-presenting starting 400 years ago.
