The fight really benefits from Munetaka Abe's animation direction. Transformers episodes he is involved in always feature ridiculously detailed and expressive character art. I especially love how full of emotion and organic his face drawings are.
In Laserion #06 you can spot a model kit of Char's Zaku on one of the shelves in Takashi's room.
Also - the toy robot that Takashi is playing with in this scene is actually Albegas. Both Laserion and Albegas were directed by Kouzou Morishita & shared a lot of staff members.
Ryokunohara Meikyuu feels like a fever dream constructed from nonsensical, very loosely connected events and suffers from an identity crisis, trying to turn into a bizarre music video halfway through.
But at least it has some pretty & surreal backgrounds, especially near the end.
While the final episode of Babel II sadly kinda falls apart, it still managed to deliver one of the coolest fight scenes in the OVA. Depicted almost entirely through reflections in gradually cracking mirrors and painting the fighters in contrasting color palettes.
It's a small thing, but I really appreciate how they used a thin piece of fabric to make the retrospection scenes at the beginning of Babel II #02 feel more ancient due to the unique canvas-like texture.
My favorite part is when one of the riders jumps off his bike after it gets caught by the monster. I love how he keeps the ridiculous speed and tries his best not to trip over. And then gets sent flying in comedic fashion when the monster bites on the bike, causing the explosion.
I also absolutely love the scene where Silver's crew turns on him and tries to intimidate him by baring their fangs. The mouse trying to look menacing while showing a literal swiss army knife fangs is the most hilarious.
