Uyokka's demise near the end of the clip is also pretty spectacular, thanks to very dramatic acting, detailed drawings, and the way the villain gradually crumbles apart, with bits of fabric and debris flying everywhere (very characteristic for Iguchi Chuuichi's style).
The most surreal and intriguing scene, however, is Ivalda's entrance near the end. By using a different color palette, and changing the backgrounds into disturbing collages of war and terrorism photos, it turns the rest of the episode into an uncannily eerie spectacle.
It is also one of the best episodes in terms of writing, as it provides some much-needed character development for Mannakka. Being tied to Hiro for the whole episode allowed her to learn some interesting things about humans, and caused some interesting changes in her behavior.
Nishikubo Mizuho's episodes of Gold Lightan are always such a treat. They feature some of the most striking and mesmerizing visuals in an already overall pretty show.
They also make it very apparent just how much Nishikubo got influenced by Dezaki.
Oh, and Nakamura's fantastic animation is not the only cool thing to look forward to in this episode. The direction is also incredibly strong, featuring a lot of mesmerizing shots with powerful angles and an amazing sense of scale.
One of Ivalda the Great's plans for achieving world domination involves using swans as nuclear bombs to destroy all the military bases around the globe.
The final slash (not included in this clip) simply reuses the usual stock footage for King Gosaurer's finisher, but honestly, the whole lead-up is so damn good that it can be easily forgiven.
Unfortunately, KAs are not listed by name, and instead are all credited simply as Studio Bebow, so it's difficult to say who exactly worked on this ep. There are a few drawings similar to Kogawa's style, but I'm not sure if they can be treated as a hint.
