I read this book today: THE LITTLE ISLAND by Margaret Wiseman Brown and illustrated by Leonard Weisgard, published 1946. Brown’s poetic voice, her perfect rhythm, lures us into a new world, matched perfectly by the apposing black and white and colored illustrations on each spread
I read this book today: Harold inspired me to pick up a crayon, quite a few crayons actually...maybe that’s why we love #crockettjohnson ‘s book so much!? #haroldandthepurplecrayon
@mallorygrigg #quarantart #day16 working on project where various forest animals draw an item in their own style... here are 4 examples... I think they’re fun and colorful enough to make your bleak day in NYC feel a little better...
@ioanahobai my daughter (13) made a mistake today. I made her read your book to make her feel better because she tends to go down a spiral of negativity when she makes a mistake...she felt much better after reading your book...I love it too! Thx (pic by @ioanahobai )
@charliemackesy from one non-reader to another, I just finished reading your book...and loved every moment, and yes, I will happily reread it in fits and starts many more times - your wisdom within tiny intimate moments of kindness and love are profound!
#devodoodle7 ...my abstract take on the ark...the main thing that struck me was the fact that God SENT all the animals and birds TO the Ark once it was ready...basically, build it and they will come...basically, do what God asks you to do and he will take care of the rest...
#devodoodle6 this very simplistic and almost predictable drawing completely undermines the many lingering questions...
@WriterTec Loved Tintin and Asterix and Obelix. Couldn’t wait for Sunday newspapers! 👍🏻
