Cover of the official program for the 4th clash between Jersey Joe Walcott and Ezzard Charles in 1952. Walcott retained the world title with a close but unanimous 15 round decision and the rivalry ended with two wins apiece.

Prior to his 1897 title bout with champion James J. Corbett, Bob Fitzsimmons, aka "The Fighting Blacksmith," demonstrated his ring techniques in an extraordinary feature in The New York Journal. Fitz would win by KO in round 14.

Can't resist following up with this hair "pomade" ad from the same year, published after Joe's demolition of Carnera who, it should be noted, was 65 pounds heavier than Louis. As the ad states, lucky for Primo, he didn't "muss up" Joe's hair.
