Vladimir Rumyantsev (1957-2019).
He spent his artistic life painting the cats of St Petersburg. I’ve just chosen a few to post this morning.
I was sad to hear of his early death
Beautiful paintings of sometimes naughty cats but also very endearing

John Jaques Somerscales. ( 1842-1927 British).Kingston Upon Hull
By the time he was 21 he was a Naval Schoolmaster on HMS Cumberland and indeed continued doing this on many ships until he had a fever and was discharged from the Royal Navy in Valparaiso. Sorry no more room

Montague Dawson (1890-1973) British ‘ Wind and Sun’
Marine artist. Best known for his painting of ships. Beautiful

Thought seeing as he was quite a famous painter I’d better post another couple so I fought my way through the bears, lions and stags to find some hares and hounds. Love these, the dogs are Russian Wolfhounds and ‘Hares in a Field ‘

Andrew Davidson again
He also produced the Christmas stamps a couple of years ago.
These again for Agatha Christie, maybe not the placard wielding ladies with truthful banners.

Another unsung artist. I’d not heard of him before but he was part of the ‘Bradford Mafia’ of artists including David Hockney who is very well known

Steampunk paper dolls , what next? It’s an interesting concept but not quite sure what to do when they are made up ….apparently there are 28 outfits in the ‘vixen one’ Amazon might have them …
