Amid the leafy glades and wooded hills of Himmapaanland, there also dwells Black Dog. At its most benign, #BlackDog is a flicker of indigo flame; a dark will-o'-the-wisp. But Black Dog continually shifts and can reach any size or intensity.

'I drew a sword of steel,
But when to home and hearth
The battle's breath
Bore fire and death,
My sword was but a lath!
I lit a beacon fire,
But on a stormy day
Of frost and rime
In wintertime,
My fire had died away.'
Gilbert & Sullivan, Princess Ida.

Myself: I wonder if... 🤔
I: No, there are countless guides to drawing horses which can be got anywhere. Nobody needs one from you. Don't give yourself airs. >:| 🙄
@TiffanyTurrill You're the sweetest. 💙
But I merely look constipated in the attempt. 😂
Is it #WorldCrocDay?
Here's an oldie but goodie (& personal favourite). Illustration for The Elephant's Child from Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories, published by The Folio Society, 2013. Watercolour on Saunders hot pressed, 255 x 180 mm.
I'm provisionally calling this monstrosity the Cambeast; inspired by the @triceratopsian triumvirate of horses, Triceratops, and dragons.
There was no attempt at good creature design here, just a straightforward mash-up. X)
I've had this in my head for a good while. Finally sketched it down, to be worked up in future. Though having made a better rough than expected, I'm probably even less likely to take it further within the next five years. 🤦♀️
