She was laid off in 1941 but came back just a year later to work on the WWII films Disney was producing. She left the studio in the late 40s. She continued to do freelance art and illustrations.
She started with Disney in 1938 in the Story Dept working on Bambi. She then went on to Dumbo. She spent many days at the Griffith Park Zoo perfecting her animal drawings. She had a real talent for it!
Ken was inspired by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in developing the characters and plot; especially Robin Hood and Little John. I really love the happy and warm feeling evident in many of these images. 😁❤️
