Ok. i thought about this while playing the lost levels. where the FREAK did the name "Lakitu" come from? it almost sounds like an enemy name that didn't get localized but no, when translating super mario from japanese they decided to deliberately change this guy's name to Lakitu
The n64 yoshi design seems based on yoshi's story and in that game all the yoshis were meant to be babies i think, so theyre a lot smaller in proportion compared to the yoshi most had come to know up until that point
Game theory the yoshi seen in n64 games is a baby or small child compared to the yoshi we see today
graham falk has such a neat style. its always really easy to tell if he boarded something in AT. theres always a really flat but flowy feeling. very "silly." thats the first word that comes to mind
