for my next trick i shall give steven the hanna-barbera-inspired upper-lip-that-connects-into-the-nose trick
i like when mordecai in regular show opens his mouth big and it just leaves a bunch of negative space in his face. i draw mouths like that a lot. its fun i think
Seeing this stupid child pushed me over the edge. i can just picture elmer earl hartman drawing this kid and being like "haha yeah a little white kid just like me, give him baggy clothes whoaa this kid is so cool my audience of exclusively 6-11 year old white boys will love this"
Also just now realizing that this was probably made in response to the success of the alvin and the chipmunks live action movies
i get that a lot of people around my age are used to this being The charles e. cheese design but it's really funny how dated this one looks now. i mean just look at this. i bet 20-somethings in the 90's-2000's were like "who the heck is this"
i think im getting there. i want to embody that one scream sound from flapjack
@JoshuaOwen068 theres a bit of uncanniness that comes with it being really early CGI but i feel like the design itself has more of a "cute" feeling than 2000's mario in terms of facial proportions
i feel like mario's face in 3D renders briefly dipped into some evil territory in the gamecube/wii era. but then in the HD era they brought back this cuddly warmth he had in the N64 era. it's the chubby plush proportions of his face
