Gen 6: Pokémon Y. The first mainline game to grab me in a good while, and the first of the 3D mainlines to boot! This one introduced a new type, had a streamlined experience, and some cool box legendaries. Shame version Z never happened though.
Gen 5: Pokémon Conquest. A big fan of tactics RPGs, Conquest is something I really wish they'd revisit. I love the Warring States narrative, Pokémon in a new paradigm, the presentation, the robust spritework... It's just an absolute joy all 'round.
Gen 3: Pokémon Colosseum. The first 3D console Pokémon adventure! With a unique aesthetic, a brand new region with its own quirks & secrets, a badass anti-hero protag, interesting mechanics like the Shadow mons & Capture Balls, I still go back and replay this somewhat regularly😊
Gen 2: Pokémon Crystal. Another Cliché choice haha. All the good of Silver & Gold plus a female player character, animated battle sprites, and some extra side content!
Special shoutouts to Billy Hatcher and Sonic Robo Blast 2
so where the fuck is Billy Hatcher 2 anyway. It could have Human Sonic as a "mysterious" guest character lol
Happy Birthday to Mario, Pauline, Donkey Kong, and Goofy Kong! You defined a company, and gaming itself 🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@smugglersdray @dkvine well I would have said Oddworld: Soulstorm but that came two weeks ago! 😛 So... Solar Ash Kingdom? Final Fantasy 16? Deathloop? hard to decide, there's so many good exclusives coming up!
