Alien Syndrome!
Another port of a Sega arcade release that should have been console-defining.
Alright, apparently everyone wants me to do the arcade ports now and come back to licensed games when I have more time.
Let's do that. #IGCvMasterSystem Spring Break: SMS Arcade Ports Thread #1.
This time I *will* stick to alphabetical order. No playing favorites.
AFTER BURNER
I can't imagine anyone could have made it this far before emulation. I had to rewind a million times.
You're riding a horse to go save Clara. You have to pick up her luggage along the way and shoot birds.
Just like the movie!
The bending over animation is awesome. It makes it look like he's dead on the horse.
Yea, I like this. Quite underrated and worth a look for you 2D gothic horror platforming fans out there. Like a Castlevania game that takes itself too seriously.
Some parts are wonky. Like this boss isn't a boss. You have to just avoid its attacks for a minute or so.
You know what? I didn't think the NES Dracula was bad.
THIS is a better version of it.
I don't know why they'd use the Bram Stoker license. It has NOTHING to do with the movie except a vague gothic horror setting. But like.. was that movie so big that people wanted merchandise?
It appears to be a port of the NES game.
BUT it did this neat thing right off the bat. When I entered the cavern, the lights dimmed.
Don't remember the NES version doing that.
Do you remember the part in Bram Stoker's Dracula where Jonathan Harker fought skeletons with an axe?
Alright, let's do Monopoly.
There's a reason I'm doing this. SMS fans might know why. It's insane.
Yea this is a NO. Terrible game. Too many unavoidable hits. Just very bad game. Sluggish and designed to punish.
