OH MY GOD LAND OF ILLUSION IS NON-LINEAR!
🤯
Like Wario Land on Game Boy, levels become altered as you progress. The lake before where the water rose and fell?
It's completely full now and that element is gone, so you can backtrack and get missed items!
I'm dazzled here!
This is an all-in-one thread for #IGCvMasterSystem Spring Break's Licensed Games.
I was MOSTLY going to stay in alphabetical order, but let's get the Illusion games out of the way. These star Mickey Mouse and were very popular.. on the Genesis. On the Master System? I dunno?!
I didn't pick these games. I just play them. I'm not anti-Sailor Moon.
But, this strikes me as a game where a lot will be lost on you if you're not familiar with the source material, and I'm not at all.
AND it's an RPG, which means it's going to take forever to get going. UGH!!
The funny thing is I'm coming off Super Mario RPG, an incredible game with an absurdly short development cycle (about seven months). Magical Quest 1 took even less time: less than four months.
It's pretty much a proof-of-concept, and is notoriously short. There's a reason it is.
@VeraMBergen Uh.. because he's a con artist and people who believe this will keep sending him money?
Apparently this was quite the experimental project and Human Entertainment (developers of such gems as Gilligan's Island on the NES) really didn't believe in it, insisting nobody would want to "play a game where you run away."
Sounds like me at my new home.
I'm not worked so psycho killer will stalk me here, though. Let's face it, if there is one, it's probably me anyway.

+ Literally nothing.
- Every potentially good idea is underutilized. Sluggish/Unresponsive controls. Bland overall mechanics. Cynical and pandering character models. Cheap shots/GOTCHA hits.
And that's DinoCity.
Wow. It's another "literally nothing nice to say" games. I feel sorry for kids that had this as an option. Dinosaurs ARE cool, but this? Strip away every (BIG) flaw and it's still so damn bland and cynical. As lazy and pandering as I feared. Just horrible.
