For the complete opposite of Plok, see Bubsy.
Of course, Bubsy had a ! and his shirt and Plok didn't, so Bubsy outsold Plok by something a billion to one and today's gen xers clamored for a generic lifeless and borderline broken reboot.
Oh, and it's PICKFORD Bros. Goddamn Cathy
Yep, this is fun.
It's what you want in a 16-bit generic mascot platformer: colorful graphics. Sense of humor that actually lands instead of feeling like it's pandering to not-especially-bright-tweens, solid controls, and one gameplay novelty hook.
All the ingredients are here.
Up next, some bloke with a cloak.
THIS is the #IGCvSNES thread for Plok. Named after our 11th President, James K. Plok! He annexed Tex..
HUH?
Ohhh..
Whoops.
THIS is the #IGCvSNES thread for Plok, named because it sounds like cloak I guess. Oh, and donate to @DirectRelief!
There we go! It's actually paying off. I should be some god forsaken abomination any time now.
Actually they're called that because feathers didn't fossilize as well. Otherwise, we'd probably call them "HOLY SHIT GIANT SCARY CHICKEN MONSTERS FROM HELL!"
When a character is "married" to the ground, it's easier because you know what angle they WON'T be attacked from, if that makes sense. So the box really only needs to focus on three sides, maybe less depending on the game.
The SNES can do more, but it requires extra muscle.
I want to thank everyone who suggested E.V.O., including @420MacMan, the official chooser of it for the #IGCvSNES charity drive. Though I suspect that if he hadn't chosen it, a couple dozen other people would have.
I'm really enjoying this, and the warts can EASILY be ironed out
