Now, I'm wondering if I want to keep Alucard or Grant.
Decisions, decisions.
I'm grinding. The ONLY item I started with is the flame whip. I don't have levels or anything besides that.
I'm having a legit perfect run, no cheating. Of course, this is like my 7th or 8th complete run of it.
I came ONE HIT away from dying to Frankenstein (or "The Creature").
And holy FUCK are the bosses spongy. I'm talking like 100+ shots spongy.
It's called Gradius 2, but if you think of it as Life Force 2, you'll have a better idea of what to expect. Gradius was subdued, with low-key set-pieces and repetitive mini-bosses.
Gradius 2 is a sweeping space epic with grand bosses.
This might be better than Life Force. Wow.
You'll all forgive me if I don't give blow-by-blow updates on the Konami shmups. We all know I'm going to drool all over them.
I'm two levels into a perfect run on Life Force, which I first discovered at the age of 19 on Virtual Console. I absolutely love this game. LOVE IT!
"Oh look, a miscolored statue. Something must be hidden there."
(fires upon it)
OH COME ON!!
I've set up a randomizer to choose my next Konami game. I just want to do retro games. In that mood, you know.
And that craving was rewarded.
So, after needing about an hour to beat the first level, I beat the second level in about ten minutes.
Well, that was weird and inconsistent. Level two wasn't a maze.
Oh man, this is fun.
It's got a few cheap ass gotcha moments, but I really enjoy the combat here. A top down platform/adventure with gunplay. It's nice.
How come this never got picked up for a US release? Just switch it over to carts.
